Will a vegan diet help prevent heart disease? – Penn State Health


Certainly being on a vegan diet is part
of a heart-healthy lifestyle. So that’s wonderful. But I think we also have to bear in mind the other risk factors that we associate
with heart disease. So, if you’re overweight or you’re sedentary or you
smoke, you have diabetes or your cholesterol is not under good control,
having a heart-healthy diet is only a part of the equation. So I would say, what
she should be commended for being on a vegan diet, other things also
should be a focus and attention to reduce the risk of heart disease.
