Urine may be a waste product, but it’s not
useless- it could be used to reveal cancer. I’m Miranda Savioli with your latest health
news. A recent study identified two proteins that
are only found at high levels in the urine of those with kidney cancer. By screening
urine for these markers, kidney cancer may now be easily detected. The lead researcher
says, currently, most patients don’t realize they have kidney cancer until symptoms like
blood in the urine appear, and by then, it may be too late to cure. These findings may
lead to a test that will help diagnose and treat patients earlier.
