Taylor Swift Parody – Good Blood (Marrow Match Anthem)

I really like the song “Bad Blood,”
Because my husband had bad blood, He had a bone marrow transplant,
And now my husband’s got good blood. (YAY!) I can’t shake it off, no Taylor Swift
Surprise my last birthday, was not a gift, Needed a Doctor but not, Doctor D.R.E.,
Might lose my life, Hematology emergency, I don’t hate you, but I hate to, upset or
heartbreak you, If we find a perfect match we’ll, use them
to replace you, Take time and we’ll Match you; bad-blood-we’ll-hear-no-more
No-you-don’t-fear-no-more, pain and sadness won’t be quite so near no more.”
Agh! Ohhh it’s so ea-sy, To join the Registry,
Swab your cheek! Cause baby, now we’ve got good blood,
You know we used to have bad blood, With bone marrow donations,
These patients, now they’ve got good blood. (Yay!)
Bone marrow problems, Doctors know how to solve’em,
Say goodbye to blood cancer, Be The Match has the answer. (Yay!) Remember when we thought that all was lost?
And now I’m out here flexin’ like a boss? Bone Marrow Transplant? Dangerous procedure,
In fact our perfect match meant that I would need ya.
It was my season for che-mo, body bruise, Blood transfused,
Laid up on my back, but still I’m fightin’ through
Save my life, yes you, you got the power, So we don’t live with the bad blood now. Ohhh it’s ea-sy to, Join the Registry, Save
a life! Bandaids don’t fix bone marrow,
A chance at life is awesome though, Can’t live like that, a cure’s so close,
If you get on the list we get healthy bone marrow! Bandaids don’t fix bone marrow, A chance at life is awesome though,
Can’t live like that, a cure’s so close If you give them your bone marrow! Cause baby, now we’ve got good blood, You know we used to have bad blood, With bone marrow donations,
These patients, now they’ve got good blood. (Yay!) Bone marrow problems,
Doctors know how to solve’em, Say goodbye to blood cancers Be The Match has their answers. (Yay!) Cause baby, now we’ve got good blood You know we used to have bad blood, With bone marrow donations These patients, now they’ve got good blood. (Yay!)

  1. Amazing video, so appropriate and what a strong message it is sending to all.
I have sent the link to my contacts and asked them to do so.
Hopefully the chain goes on and on, and more importantly all the recipients get to know about Bone Marrow Transplant.
    And hopefully more registrations.
    All the best.

  2. This is a great video and touching message. My former fiancé had Aplastic Anemia and we went to hell and back before she was cured. We broke up a few yeas after, but there isn't a day that I don't thank God for saving her and hope she won't have another occurrence of this disease. I hope all those who are waiting for a transplant or a cure will recover quickly. I will update my registration at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles.

  3. This is amazing! I had AML five years ago at the age of 35. So, I had a transplant and in December I will be 5 years cancer free!!! So thankful for my donor!

  4. Very good job you two! I just went over to see if I qualified as a donor. Unfortunately I do not. I'm not a Taylor Swift fan and never saw her video of Bad Blood. Your parody of her song is far more precious and necessary. Maybe someday when Taylor grows up, she will be less concerned about bleeding those who can't "afford" her and more concerned about putting her money where her mouth is in regards to being a "caring" human being. There has to be a serious issue with the girl if she changes love interests like she changes her outfits. I might be behind the times in her life, but in my experience people take a long time to change … IF it's biologically possible for them to change at all. Most of her "philanthropy" deeds seem more like PR stunts to me for her own personal gain. She has given a few smaller sums towards charities as tax write-offs, $50,000, $100,000 and $150,000. Maybe someday she will rise to the top and give back like Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt. Their philanthropy extends worldwide. I barely see them in the news and have to literally search for their good deeds. Taylor seems to be all over just because she visits a few kids in the hospital and she's the "flavor of the decade". We'll see her true colors when her flavor fades.

  7. I'm starting my transplant on Oct. 1st 2015. I was diagnosed with AML (Acute Myeloid Leukemia) on Oct. 31st, 2014. Happy Halloween. Best of luck to you.

  8. This made me smile, extra hard this morning.  So beautiful.  Praying that all who have been diagnosed receive a match.  God bless you!!!

  9. You all are awesome! I'm sharing on my fb account. I have SAA so this is a great way to get awareness out there! I'm happy your doing better after your transplant. Prayers and blessings.

  10. This is incredible! My husband was diagnosed in October 2014 with Chronic Myelomonocytic Leukemia (CMML) at the ripe old age of 41. He received his bone marrow transplant on June 26 and is slowly recovering. He has been 100% donor since day +30, but we just found out today (Day +115) that he is in remission! Thank you for raising awareness for the National Registry/ Be The Match! Neither one of my brother-in-laws were a match so his donor was found through the registry. Next June (if the donor agrees) we can find out who he is and meet him! #woodyswarriors

  11. Dear Kevin, Dear Stephanie, thank you very much for sharing this amazing clip and working so hard to help us with subtitles. Many greetings from Czech Republic.

  12. Kevin, I was so moved by your video. My daughter could not find a match from the registry and ultimately she died at 19 years of age. Since then I have held marrow drives. I am about to hold another one at the college I attend and desperately would like to use your video. However, I cannot get it to run on YouTube. Any suggestions on how I can get a copy?

  14. I love this video! I had a transplant around 15 years ago (I'm 17 now, i was diagnosed when I was 18 months old!)I've had so many transplants and thanks to that they all saved my life. Thank you to all the people who do that and find new ways to spread awareness and donate for the help for others, we appreciate it so much! I have -0 blood, which is the "rarest." This means I can only get a specific kind of blood, although if I could donate, anybody could have my blood and it would be safe.) THANK YOU GUYS. I loved this video, it's an awesome way to raise awareness!

  18. I just came cross this while preparing my stem cell stimulation injection. I am donating for my sister with a BMT in three days time in RPA hospital Sydney Australia. She has Aplastic Anaemia and PNH. All the comments from people who had a BMT were very, very encouraging. Brilliant video and message.

  19. Just found this gem! On behalf of everyone at the Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy (FACT), a non-profit organization setting standards and accrediting hospitals performing bone marrow transplants – Great job!!! This is one of the most effective, impactful, educational tools for awareness we have ever seen. It has even motivated our staff to share the video and put "swabbing" on their 2018 Goals lists!

  20. I was diagnosed fall of 2015 with Severe Aplastic Anemia. This song really helped me through the rough times as I waited for my bone marrow transplant in the fall of 2016. Now 15 months post transplant and today's blood test looked great! Keep fighting everyone!

  21. Did you guys have any problems with copyright on this track? We're looking to make something similar for a charity and I'm curious is why.

  22. Thank you so much for this video. I won't lie…it had me tearing up. I'm an aplastic anemia survivor – currently at +7 months transplant.
