Pancreatic cancer is one of the hardest cancers
to detect at an early stage,… but in a possible breakthrough,… a new blood test to identify
the cancer has just been discovered. Researchers at the University of Pennsylvania
has found that pancreatic cancer can be detected, even at an early stage,… using a newly-identified
biomarker in the blood,… thrombospondin-2. The researchers used the biomarker in over
700 blood sample tests, and found they could detect early stage pancreatic cancer with
98 percent accuracy. The study was published this week in the journal
“Science Translational Medicine”.
