How to use a BP Passport with the Simple app

Hi! I’m Akshay and I work on the Simple app. First of all, thanks so much for all of the hard work you do. It really is saving lives from heart attacks and strokes. We’ve added a new feature to Simple that we hope makes your work a little easier. It’s called a BP Passport. The BP Passport replaces the patient ID cards. In the Simple app, you should see a big blue button on the home screen that says “Scan BP Passport.” If you don’t see the big blue button, open to the Google Play Store app and update Simple to the latest version. You should also have been given some paper BP Passports. If you don’t have any or if you run out, please ask your STS or CVHO for more and they will give you some. How to use a BP Passport First, please give one BP Passport to every patient registered in Simple. Write the patient’s full name on the front of the card with a pen. Then fold the card in half. Open the Simple app. Tap the big blue button on the home screen. Now put the QR code in front of the camera. Now, enter the patient’s full name. If the patient is already registered in Simple, tap on their name in the search results. If they are a new patient, register them like you normally would. Now, just record the patient’s BP and medicines, like usual. Then, take the BP Passport and write the next visit date on the front… and write the BP and medicine information on the inside. When a patient returns to the clinic, tap the blue button, scan the QR code on their passport… and you should automatically see the patient’s information and quickly add their new BP. What should you do if a patient forgets to bring their BP Passport? No problem. Just give the patient a new BP Passport. A patient can have several BP Passports and they will all work. The passports are not expensive, so please give passports to all patients that need them. What should you do if a patient has an old IHMI Patient ID card? If the patient has an old IHMI Patient ID card, you can just stop using it. What should you do with the patients’ IHMI number? Some people like to write the IHMI number in the notes space on the inside of the card… …but you don’t have to. If you have any questions about using the BP Passports. Tap on the question mark icon in the app. Look for the WhatsApp link. And ask questions in the WhatsApp group. Thank you again for all of your hard work.
