How do you explain a man over 81 that has the evidence that he is still in his 30's physically that can perform daily tasks with ease and needs a tooth extraction asks God the Almighty to extract this tooth and the next morning the tooth is laying beside the gum which is gushing blood and open. The next day the gum has healed as though the extraction didn't happen. My sister has two clogged arteries and I am praying for her and have asked the Almighty to make her whole . . I have also asked God to make me whole.
Just go plant based and increase your resistance/cardio.
so, ok you are an MD, but, you dont know…now I can see whay most doctor like you, they just dont liscen to peole who are no doctor but they know…you do need that calastrol to put that fire out…
“Delete this.”– Big Pharma
This dude is red pilled. Liked and subbed.
He said insulin resistance was his problem…so why not eat to reduce IR?Avoid sugar and high carb foods…
There is one product this will reduce LDL while raising HDL better and safer than Statins. It reduces Triglycerides. It helps you burn fat with walking a few times per week. Controls Blood sugar better than Diabetes Medication. Clinically Proven and found in the PDR. Its called Unicity Balance, previously known as Bios Life Slim. I am not a salesman for this product, I'm just sharing life-changing information.
It's not kale, is it? Please tell me it's not kale..
I reduced my cholesterol with niacin oatmeal Coq10 and selenium with no dairy and 30 minutes excersise in 45 days after doctor said I would be a medicine for the rest of my life this was 2004.
Great heart/health information. What's involved in getting a CMIT test and what is the approximate cost of this test?
My mom almost went blind from niacin
Most (about 75 percent) of the video was a patient history and genetic profile, which provided ample context. However, only the final 25 percent reviewed Dr. Brewer's personal health remedy– salmon (omega3 fatty acids), niacin (raises HDL, lowers LDL) and Crestor. Brewer is happy with the result, but we are tempted to ask, why not try a whole food, plant-based diet? Particularly since such a diet addresses cardiovascular, metabolic and cancer issues, all at once. No, a "cure-all" diet has not been devised, but the heavy reliance on plant-based foods around the world's traditional cultures manifests in orders of magnitude lower risk from the killers of the Westernized, industrialized diet.
Do you recommend taking fish oil supplements for those who cannot eat seafood? Also, I saw that you mentioned in a reply to a comment how reducing carbohydrate intake helps with reducing insulin resistance, but what carbohydrates are you referring to? Are foods like rolled oats, lentils, and fruit still culprits in promoting insulin resistance and the inflammation responsible for atherosclerosis?
P.S. Thank you so much for this video. Before watching it and reading the comments, I had a very simplistic understanding of atherosclerosis.
Have you heard of Achilles Tendon seizures caused by Statin use? I have been experiencing horrible painful Achilles tendon problems after being given Statins. I took myself off of them and the problem stopped. My doctor asked me to try a different Statin and I did. The problem came back and hasn't stopped even though I have stopped using Statins altogether. My doctor is at a loss and I cannot find help for this.
Genetics also has much to do with this.
We eat TOO DAMNED MUCH.. Fasting resets and repairs everything
What if one has high cholesterol…242 LDL 132 HDL 97. Would CholestOff (a supplement of plant sterols and stanols) help any? No meds give because of high HDL.
medicate yuorself ok….
Video topic starts at 9:50, to save you time.
Try matcha green tea with ginger. Garlic. Omega 3
U need meat lol
I was put on a statin because a echocardiogram show some plaque in my aortic value. I have had low cholesterol counts my entire life, currently it's 130. I am not the healthiest eater and overweight. I did smoke for 10 years but quit 30 years ago. So having a low cholesterol really doesn't mean that much? Lifestyle means more?
My husband who has hereditary high cholesterol just had the test done that shows the actual picture of the heart. I changed his doctor because the past docs just kept renewing drugs with no actual tests to “see” his heart. Well…..although, through drugs, his “ numbers” were ok….the pics showed at 53 years old….his arteries were 20% blocked!! 25% chance of a heart attack in 5yrs…. and told the way the calcification was…it would be fatal! Instantly he changed his diet..no processed, only whole foods, no pop, alcohol, sugar, other than fruit, and lost 45 lbs! Now what?
Unless you are having a heart catherization there is no accurate test to determine how much plaque buildup you have and wether it’s increase or decreasing. This is simple not truthful. I know, I had all the testing which did not reveal my heart disease and had a heart attack at 49. After more than 10 years at the gym 5 days a week. Cardiac Catherization is the ONLY test that accurately determines plaque buildup and it’s location. The others are guessing or opinions…. not fact.
Any particular kind of niacin?
I thank you Dr.Brewer for your channel and i am very pleased to know you practice preventive.
Ginger pineapple and asparagus are the best foods for inflammation.
Extraordinariiiooooooo absolutely fantasticoooooooooo video Dr Ford Brewer thank you for sharing your knowledge about this. ….I have 450 of LDL but why Dr Brewer I am only eating healthy foods like whole brown rice with vegetables and lentils as stew also I eat lots of rolled oatmeal and milk with brown sugar nothing of red meats not chicken I don't drink I don't eat frying foods or frying eegs nothing with fats or potatoes chips and I still have high LDL can you please explain it to me Dr Brewer? ???
First off there is absolutely positively no way anyone has mapped the DNA n can know what goes to wat n if there is any connection at all to disease being mapped out in the DNA a unless of course u designed the DNA. I've never seen a DNA n that tells u nothing. So u can just say its genetic. Doesn't that kind of end the discussion. So full of urself n ur knowledge. U took the niacin but literally couldn't bring urself to crediting it for doing anything. Well it helped right. But it was the change in medication that reeeeeeeeally did it. Shuu. I'm shaking my head. U have more faith n belief in the disease n the hard working of it than u do in the body's ability to heal itself given the proper God given natural substances. Unbelievable wst u conclude with so much knowledge.
Noticed I missed the deadline beings today is the 13th of November,Louisville,Ky is only minutes away from me,My Practitioner doesn't know much about prevention,I have High Blood pressure and only take Lisinopril 30 MG ,it's under control but my bad Cholesterol is a bit too high and my good cholesterol is too low, been taking Niacin extended release 500 mg one time a day doesn't seem to be helping my cholesterol, tried Vitamin K2 and D together and started having issues with tumors on my elbow and my wrist had the tumor cutout of my elbow Vitamin K seemed to be pulling calcium of of places I needed it so I stopped taking it and had know more issues with that.
So 54 here just had my CAC Score scan ..Bad result 420 ughh…told I now have a 30% chance of heart event … non smoker non drinker…eat healthy..my LDL 3.6 HDL 1.1 Tryglycerides are LOW..BP Low…Echo Stress Test Passed with Flying Colours.. How on earth has this happened…anyone else with High Score been able to reverse this…?! Im taking K2 180mg x2 a day Nicain 500mg a day…Magnesium x 2…Glucose level Normal (says Dr) Eating lots of Omega 3 foods. Intermittent Fasting..weight is just (130pounds) 59kgs at 5ft 7…171cm. My thyroid is diseased so taking T4 synthetic…considering going to T4/T3 natural thyroid replacement…anyone in a siimilar position had success?! what do you take to help with this ?! Im also considering adding Berberine
Good doctor, I am happy for your success; however, you can’t conduct a n=1 study and attribute its success or failure to a single factor when multiple factors were changed simultaneously. See Dave Feldman.
I have been trying to cut down on meats in an effort to better health and way to keep my cholesterol in check. Your video is most informative and given me other dietary things to consider – Thanks
Niacin, Omega 3, crestor ?Avoiding Statins taking Crestor 5 mg.
What should I do?I was just told I had 50% blockage in 1artery. 5 years ago I had zero. Both results were from heart Cathy. I didn’t change my lifestyle at all, but something has gone very wrong. Doctors have not prescribed any statins just BP meds and flecainide for excessive PVCs. I’m just worried because my cardiologists don’t seem to have any urgency in the matter.
Eat as many oranges daily as you can handle it improves almost everything! AWM
Amazing. I have to try this.
Thought bubble -If the cause of a persons plaques is immune inflammation then could an anti inflammatory drug or immune modulating drug alter the severity or even with the latter stop the progression of the disease?! My disease seems to be an extension of my auto inflammatory arthritis in my body… As opposed to insulin resistance or poor diet. Could for those who have immune conditions benefit their heart by taking even an NSAID perhaps low dose daily. And how much benefit could a biological make to this kind of driven heart disease a drug such as humira?! Has any research been done in relation to this? Love to hear any thoughts. Cheers
How about making video on plaqlue reversal for those with ApoE4 allele?
Cardiologist put me on 5 mg Eliquis 2x daily. I have resisted for about 6 months. I started taking them today. I have an irregular heart beat, sleep apnea, bad but stable kidneys, weight 210# from 250#, 5'8". Will go down to 180, age 78. have a non supporting spouse on cooking so I prepare my own food 65% of the time and would like to increase it to 100%. I have good, not great energy to walk and do house chores. I squirt essential minerals on my bottle water and drink a minimum of 90 oz a day. I take vitamins daily for suitable for heart and kidney ie copper liver, vitamin k3. E, tri-iodine, niacin, folic acid, selenium. I really feel i should be doing something else instead of taking blood thinners. What do you say?
I've been on 20 mg simvastatin for 10 years. My PCP said it would save me later in life. I'm a believer.
Ace inhibitors are bad for sex .Lipitor gives memory problems and muscle pains
Exercise, cut out sugar, cut out carbs, cut out dairy, cut out meat, salt , only eat fish and vegetables and become a monk
I've been taking generic Crestor for over 20 years. Now I've learned that statins disrupt good cell reproduction all over the body, including important tissues like heart muscle. It can leave your heart riddled with micro holes. I quit taking taking it after changing my diet to low carb, moderate protein and healthy fat.
I appreciate the time you spent to make this video. I have a couple of questions. You take ramipril & crestor, I take lisinopril & atorvastatin. Will they have the same effect on the plaque build up? Thanks in advance.
First time viewer. I was looking for a 'sign' (for lack of a better word) that would confirm whether I should spend my precious time investigating more of your videos and noticed immediately that we share the same birthday. LOL.
Insulin Resistance – Chromium, Cassia Cinnamon (caution anticoagulant) || Clot bursting protocol – Cayenne Chilli Powder, Omega 3 & B3 Niacin (HDL) , B1 Thiamine, Vit C with Lysine Proline Glysine. Soluble Fiber. All the best
Statins? That's your solution?
The most important thing I learned is the morphology of the plaque and artery. I was under the impression that the plaque deposits in the inside of the artery wall. If just scanned the videos on the right side of the page and noticed that many videos on the subject show the plaque as a surface phenom.
Can oatmeal help by eating it everyday with a banana?
I look all the video I did not understand at all how he reversed his plaque even it is the title of the video! I did not know I was so stupid!
Cholestrol is the bodys response to the constant inflammation from decades of inflammatory foods. Stay away from sugar and oil.
Just another drug pusher!
Does this tie in to erectile dysfunction?
What about the Vit D3/K2 combination that is punted by some?? Supposed to remove calcium from the arteries and deposit in the bones, where it belongs. It would be nice if someone can do a straight, no frills video on this. There are several floating around, but none seem to provide solid evidence that this is the solution.
Does/could eating cheese and drinking kefir (both very high in calcium from animal origin) cause hardening of the arteries (even a bit) in the long run ? I was able to find only information about calcium supplements leading to hardening of the arteries, what about those very two foods (which are a basic part of my diet). Thank you.
You don’t think you have a problem ? Watch this video and see how many problems you do actually have. Then you can add insomnia stress and anxiety to te list – thanks to Doctor thingummy
No need to take niacin supplements if you eat enough salmon or chicken.
Just stop eating all meats any thing that came to earth from a mom and dad do not eat it. So basically total plant base diet and dairy rice and posta or processed foods. Veggies fruits smoothies
VITAMIN C IS THE SOLUTION. I started taking 20 grams per day (5 doses, 4 grams each, 2 hours apart). 4 grams is about a teaspoon of powder. I mix it in a shot glass with a small amount of water and 1/8th of a teaspoon of baking soda. I cover it with another, up side down shot glass until the fizzing stops. Then I stir it with a wooden chopstick until the new fizzing stops. Then I swollow it and chase it with a sip of water. Haven't had the slightest sign of a blockage since (I get angiograms regularly). VC heals the inflamation in the arterial walls. Cholesterol is irrelevant. Look up Linus Pauling therapy. He got a Nobel Prize for discovering this. The medical industry won't speak of it because it is not very profitable. Pharmaceuticals have no positive effect. The entire industry is a fraud. They don't want cures, they only care about PROFIT! Your body NEEDS cholesterol. Too low a level and you will get Alzheimer's. Your body actually MAKES cholesterol. Your brain needs it. It is essential. There are plenty of other things you can do that also helps. But Vitamin C is #1. If it were not for Vitamin C, I would surely be dead.
So you would not recommend going Vegan (fat-free)? After a gallbladder removal surgery I've read one should avoid all fat.
I'm a 57 year old man, just had a CTA calcium test done and got a score of 30. Don't know how to interpret this. Does anyone know if this is good or bad? Thanks.
Why don’t you just eat a whole food plant based diet? Then you won’t have to take any meds.
Animal fat & essential minerals 👍🏼
What about Vit K? Can it really help decalcify your arteries and harden bones?
Hey people. The doctor’s “artery age” was 73. In 2015 he was 57. He had a slight brain fart when he said age the second time.BTW, like Bill Clinton, I lowered my LDL in two months by following a plant based diet. Just sayin’
My uncle within one year showed 95% blockage (He checks every year) & put 3 rings after a chest pain .His artery is shrinking ,one artery is as thin as human hair ,he has no bad cholesterol or anything(His all charts got perfect score on everything) ,Doctors are puzzled why its happening .
Lost my husband 3 years ago from a heart attack…CAD. He was 49 years old. Since then, I've slowly changed what I eat…Am on a Mostly Plant Based Diet. I stopped eating out, nothing fried or processed. Rarely I'll eat dairy. Most of the veggies I buy or are given to me are organically/locally grown. If i use any oil, its Coconut… Very little Raw Sugar, a tsp in my coffee & I only drink water with lemon. I can say, I have never felt better…Now for more exercise too. I go back to my dr in 3 months to do blood-work. I am on a bp med, i am hoping to get off of it. Maybe time to get my arteries checked too…recent studies are linking narrowing of arteries is a huge factor in alzheimers.
Thanks Doc. Im 38 but I have been doing low carb/keto as well as OMAD/20 hour fasts daily, as well as exercise and even Wim Hof and meditation for mental clarity and overall health. I also avoid lectins, casein, and gluten (gluten is a lectin). Im glad I am also protecting my heart.
Did you ever smoke?
Take small doses of Viagra active interference everyday for a few weeks.
With all due respect Doc, but, you should’ve eaten , taken some Garlic every day , raw , direct from it, the natural way … best remedy for the last 3000 years and of course Cut those SUGARS OFF your diet … Cheers .
This is hooey. No scientific studies. The cholesterol myth has been debunked. Rad the cholesterol myth by a leading cardiologist and dietician.
I was able to drop my total cholesterol from 220mg to 144 mg dl by following a low-fat plant-based diet. Beans and greens being the prime drivers little to no oil.
Vitamin K2, low carb diet, better sleep, reduce stress: lower inflammation of blood vessels.
Carnivore/Ketogenic diet will fix that right up. If you really want to get crazy and healthy throw in omad.
ace inhibitor, ramipril, what's the dosage please, and your artery age was judged by a CAC or a CT angiogram? thank you, loving your videos, wish I can visit a heart specialist like you here in Australia??
I am having the same problem doctor. It's been since 10 years I am having it. But the fact I know is I reached the stage where small amount of blood thinners are harmful and also I can't take vit k diet too. Can you help me. Should I try ayurveda I. E. Abana tablets or something like that.
What is your diet
Thanks Doctor for sharing!
I take an Ace inhibitor and 10mg of statin. Never felt better. To all the naysayers…statins DO work.
Solution at 9:50
Dr Brewer, I've had rheumatoid arthritis since age 2, so that's 51 years now. Technically, it's been in remission, I guess since age 17, but I've had a lot of joint damage. 5 total joint replacements so far and 2 spinal fusion surgeries. Right now, however, I am becoming increasingly concerned about my cardiovascular health. I'm seeing a cardiologist. He is a little concerned but not yet ordering an angiogram.
I'm wondering if inflammation from my RA (and years of taking ibuprofen – which he recently had me stop taking) has caused arterial damage. Two years ago, my GP did a carotid scan and said my artery looked like a 53 yr old. Not bad. 2 years older than I was at the time.
I have generally eaten a healthy diet, but am now making efforts to become even more healthy: cut out red meat and fried foods, more fish and vegetables. Also trying to exercise more, although constant joint pain makes it challenging.
I'm only taking 25 mg metoprolol at the moment. Cholesterol level good, although I need to work on my HDL / LDL ratio. It will improve as I exercise more. (Also have phleboliths, if that indicates anything)
Do you have any recommendations for reducing the inflammation that may be causing me cardiovascular problems?
By the way, if you google TheEmpoweredTraveler you can read more of my story.
Thanks in advance for any advice….
You look amazing for 73!!!
How's your lifestyle ?, Pretty Good !!! and here's 20 reasons i'm susceptible…..
crataegus/hawnthorn /garlic with banana cinnamon ceylon and olive oil bio UNFILTERED would do a great job
What do you do about calcium buildup?
Beta-Glucans. These are naturally-occurring substances present in superfoods like oats and mushrooms that scours your arteries and removes stubborn plaque deposits. There's a lot of scientific studies on these substances, but the studies stopped because the pharmaceutical industry can't make a profit on oats and mushrooms. Oats ( especially whole-grain) and mushrooms are plentiful and cheap.
Chia seeds is another superfood that contains a lot of omega 3, 6, and 9s. Very high in omega and much more cheaper than salmon. They form a gel in your stomach that regulates your blood sugar and releases energy steadily throughout the day. The Tarahumara Indians of Mexico combines chia seeds with native maize to power their 100-mile runs.
Citrulline is another substance that keeps your arteries healthy. The pharmaceutical industry sells citrulline malleate supplements to earn money, but citrulline is naturally ocurring and plentiful in red watermelons. They don't want you to buy watermelons because they won't make profits.
Even garlic can melt plaques. But pharmaceutical companies don't want you to know that because they can't make a profit. They want to sell you aspirin and statins that does nothing but damage your kidneys.
Wikipedia has detailed info on beta-glucans, chia seeds, and watermelons. Read up and good luck on your journey to wellness.
I am 5'7 in height weighing 65 kg. Age 45 as of 2019. Currently taking no medications. No diabetes or high cholesterol or arthritis. I eat mostly fish and some chicken and beef, but my diet is generally plant-based. I lift weights and run. I can run 21km in 2 hrs and 15 mins. My blood pressure is 100/70. My joints are healthy because I repair the damaged collagen with collagen from gelatin (a packet of Knox mixed in a tall glass of lemon juice) and regular turmeric plus ginger drinks (usually at night)
Avocado is a great source of healthy fats. Chayote is a rich source of folate. Your body uses folate to repair your DNA. That's why pregrant moms are advised to eat foods rich in folate to reduce the risk of birth defects. Getting old is the process of producing defective DNA, so you would rather eat chayotes rather than buy folate supplements.
Knowledge is power. The more natural your diet and supplements are, the better you will be.
So the insulin resistance continues. Lets see how that works out over time.
I would like to pass some information to everyone. Back in 2005 I had lung cancer stage 3. I went to Germany because I did not want the Chemo and Radiation that the states offered. They destroyed the cancer cells with heat! But due to the asbestos in my lungs, which could not be removed, they taught me about 35% Food Grade Hydrogen Peroxide with Distilled water. It is all natural and it is listed to have healed many things including Cardiovascular Disease. A mothers first breast milk after birth is full of H2O2 to fire up the babies immune system. I have never had cancer return and it will attack anything in your body that is foreign. The only person who cannot do it, is someone who has had an organ transplant. We have had many family members and friends that have had great results. There is a website you can go to and read about it. TheOneMinuteCure dot com. I am living proof that it does work. Best wishes to everyone.
Years of crazy insomnia, less than 2 hours any given day. Often days of no sleep at all! Quintupal bypass indicated. Can't heal without sleep.
Keto Diet and Intermittent Fasting has changed my life. You had me until "plant based." Sugar is the problem.
Turn on the subtitles! He says more in the subtitles that he never said in the video, namely that he now cuts carbs and has lowered his meds because of that. I don’t know why he posted this with all the main info hidden in the subtitles.
Did you fast pal
I had high cholesterol and triglycerides. Doc wanted to put me on Crestor. Instead, Went on a Low Carb Diet, cut out simple sugars, processed carbs, fried and fast foods. Ate lean cuts of beef, chicken, pork, whole milk, eggs and butter (no low far crap) along with some fruits and veggies. Exercised 3x a week. In 4 months my cholesterol dropped 65 points and my Triglycerides dropped in half. Doc couldn’t believe it. Statins are poison. Sugar, Carbs and processed Foods kill. It’s your Life, take control of it.
Your videos are a real blessing Doc!
Congratulations on achieving your cardio- vascular health. I didn't hear you mention any exercise you did to lower your vascular age. Were you on an exercise program during that time? And if so, what were the exercises that you did? Thanks for the video upload.
Thank you for this informative video. I learned more from this video than in over 40 years of listening to MD’s try to explain why my uncles and Dad were riddled with heart disease and how to “correct” it. This information addresses the root cause of CAD and not just treat the symptoms. My next appointment with cardiologist is going to be intense for him.
