Helping People with Sickle Cell Disease Live Longer, Better Lives

I think to see somebody on
the other side after they’re done with their treatment
and to have them come and give me invitation to
their prom, or their wedding. I can tell you, there is nothing
more rewarding than that really. To have somebody lead
a normal lifestyle after they’re done with their
treatment because we all know how rough it’s been for them,
they’re either having their disease or even when they’re
going through their transplant and then to have them make
it and then come and say. “Hey I would love for
you to see me now because I haven’t been in the
hospital for the last year”. I think that’s really
what motivates, not just me, I think all of us really.
