Finding My Positivity During Chemotherapy | Hodgkin Lymphoma | Stand Up To Cancer (2019)

I think cancer, to me, is an ugly little hitchhiker that you don’t want in your car! Being in my mid-twenties and being told you have stage four cancer was pretty terrifying. But, I was told on a Thursday and I was actually in for my first chemo on the Friday. So I didn’t really have time to process what was going on. Piglet also got diagnosed with cancer. I was the only one who actually lost their fur. Didn’t I? So, I thought Piglet deserves a little treat, so we are off to a puppy-pamper day. Come on! I started sharing my story on Instagram and through my blog, because I didn’t want others to feel alone when they were diagnosed. I’ve connected with loads of other people going through something similar. Smile Piglet! If I’m having a bad day or a good day the support from everyone else is just phenomenal. My advice to someone going through treatment is to try and find as much positivity as possible. Shall I get my hair done too, Piglet? So, one thing I did to stay positive was going to chemotherapy in fancy dress and I dressed as a unicorn! [Bell ringing] Wooo! Cancer can change a lot in your life, You’re so clean and fresh, aren’t you?! but, the one thing that it can’t change is your attitude. [Panting]
